What do you enjoy most about modeling?: The spotlight, I love being loved. When people tell me they love my pictures and complimented.

How did you first become interested in modeling?: I was working at a bank and I was working out during work hours, I walked back over to my work area and overheard all my fellow employees talking about how good looking and fit I was. So I started looking for photographers.

Modeling highlight: When I was doing a show in Dover, De and I was joking around in rehearsal one day and when I stopped at the runway to pose I lifted up my shirt and showed my 6 pac. So During the show the runway coaches asked me to do it because the show was dead. I did it and the crowd went wild. Still makes me smile until this day.

Modeling lowlight: Being told by an agent at a certain agency that I was “too short” to model for them.

What do you think is the biggest challenge for a diverse model working in the mainstream?: I think that people who fall into the “diverse” category maybe too short, too bulky, too muscular, they need to fit in somewhere. It’s really hard to find that right photographer that can shoot you great and eventually get you jobs.

How do you keep fit?: I work out 6 days a week for an hour and a half. I constantly eat to fuel my body and repair my muscles. I always eat lean, whey protein, salads, fruit. I like to use resistance bands and non-weight workouts to keep lean.

What do you like to do when you are not modeling?: I like working out. Playing basketball and baseball. I also like to read magazines, books and internet articles. I actually spend most of my time reading.

Any modeling goals you want to achieve?: I would love to be a Calvin Klein underwear model. I would also love to model for Armani and Abercrombie and Fitch.

Do you see yourself continuing to model in the next 5-10 years?: Yes, I see myself for years to come. I want to act as well but modeling is something I love. I will never let it go.

Do you any words of advice for new upcoming, aspiring diverse models?: Always keep your head up. Not everyone is going to like you or even your “look”. People are mean, and will say anything to stop you from accomplishing your dreams. So when you fall down get back up. It’s what I have always done and have enjoyed success modeling.
